The original plan was to host an intimate, 85-guest gathering at the host’s scenic riverfront property. From the beginning, this was not going to be an ordinary party. We were tasked as the corporate event planner to design a sophisticated evening filled with personalized touches, elevated hospitality, and an aesthetic that blended modern elegance with timeless Derby charm.

A Curveball from Mother Nature
Just two weeks before the event, disaster struck: historic flooding swept through Louisville, rendering the riverfront venue unusable. But when you’re in the business of creating unforgettable experiences, flexibility is key.
Our team quickly pivoted and secured an equally stunning backup location—The Speakeasy and Order of The Writ at the Frazier History Museum, right in the heart of Louisville, KY. This atmospheric venue became the perfect setting for a luxurious, elevated celebration that still captured the spirit of the original plan, albeit on slightly cozier terms with 65 guests.
A Night of Culinary and Creative Brilliance
The space was transformed with dramatic, modern-meets-classic event floral and décor: porcelain horse heads, silver trophy vases overflowing with red roses and pink lilies, and sprigs of mint set in julep cups. Every detail honored the Derby tradition while adding a contemporary twist.
